AFR Pre-Processing Plant Solutions for Sustainable Fuel

What is AFR Pre-Processing Plant?

AFR pre-processing is the initial and critical stage of converting waste into usable fuel, known as Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials (AFR). This process prepares materials such as RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel), SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel), biomass, plastic waste, tyre chips, sludge, hazardous waste and other combustible residues that contain calorific value.

In an Alternative Fuel Resources pre-processing plant, waste undergoes multiple steps including size reduction, screening, sorting, drying, stone and metal removal, PVC elimination, and inert separation as part of the operations.. These steps enhance the alternative fuel properties and make it suitable for use in co-processing. This helps increase TSR (Thermal Substitution Rate) and promotes circular economy practices.
How it Works

How ARCLER AFR Processing Works

Primary Shredder

The first stage of size reduction. It breaks down waste materials, making them more uniform for screening and separation

Over-Band Magnetic Separator (OBMS)

As part of the processing of waste, ferrous metals are extracted from the waste stream to prevent equipment damage and improve fuel quality.

Disc Screen

The disc screen plays a key role in accurate material sizing. Material smaller than 50 / 80 mm becomes the final product and moves toward fuel preparation, while waste larger than 50 / 80 mm continues to the next step for further size reduction

Air Density Separation

This unit removes heavy, non-combustible materials like stones, glass, and metals. It ensures only clean, lightweight combustible material proceeds to final shredding and also protects the subsequent equipment from wear

Fine Shredder

In the last step, the waste is finely shredded into a 95% consistent AFR/RDF alternative fuel fraction as per the requirement.

Drying:

This step helps in reducing the moisture content to desired level to increase the calorific value of AFR / RDF.
Primary Shredder : The First step of size reduction which makes the material more uniform for further screening & separation.
OBMS : Removes Fe Metal
Disc Screen : Does precise size separation
Air Density Separation : Removes stones, metal, glass & other heavies and protect the Fine Shredder
Fine Shredder : Delivers 95% consistent desired Fine shredded AFR/RDF/SRF combustible fraction
Industries We Serve

Who Uses Our AFR Plants?

Nuclear Waste

Cement Plants

AFR is widely used in the cement sector to increase the Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR). Our pre-processing systems ensure consistent, high-quality fuel that supports long kiln runs, reduces fossil fuel use, and aligns with emission norms and sustainability goals.

Steel Waste

Steel Industries

Steel plants benefit from AFR by using alternative fuel materials in preheating and furnace operations. Our solutions help reduce dependency on coal, cut energy costs, and support the steel sector's environmental compliance efforts.

Waste

Paper Industry

Paper mills can utilize RDF/SRF as a supplemental energy source during production. Our technology helps reduce waste handling costs and improve the energy efficiency of operations, contributing to greener paper production processes.

Afr Pre- Processing

Waste to Energy Plants

We supply high-calorific, pre-processed waste fuel ideal for combustion in power plants. This supports energy recovery from MSW and industrial waste, reduces landfill pressure, and promotes circular economy practices through alternative resources.
